The latest ‘arts’ title published under the Make Books imprint This is Not a Violin, it is a Doorway celebrates ReVerse Butcher’s arresting and innovative achievements that were unleashed through Sarah Curro’s perceptive patronage. A process that began with Sarah asking ‘Can you paint a violin for me?’.

Treason: Claus von Stauffenberg and the plot to kill Hitler is a page-turning story of human drama, heroism and sacrifice. It is an intimate and compelling account of individual moral character and physical courage set against tumultuous events.

It was inevitable that there would be a book series drawing on myriad cloud and sky images held in the image archive. Early design work and initial photo editing is underway for the first titles in the Elysium series. A production schedule is being determined.

Crystal Rain will be the first work of fiction to be published under the Make Books Australia imprint. Set in the immediate future, it is a story of smart people who are seeking to do good, and of corporate leadership blinded by greed, of corruptible politicians, and of organised crime – each group determined to profit from the looming natural disaster.

Venice 1983 is the first title in Make Books Australia’s planned timeSnaps series. It draws on part of a 1,500 image archive – photos taken by the author during a three-month round-the-world trip. Venice 1983 is scheduled for release during autumn 2023 with a softcover print edition, and an interactive ebook edition through Apple Books.

Mothlight is the third collection of contemporary Australia poems by author and former barrister Brian Walters published by Make Books Australia. The rich visual setting within Mothlight complements poems that explore our place in a beautiful but damaged world.
